Evidence Session 4
After a successful third session this week at which the Westminster Commission on Miscarriages of Justice (WCMJ) heard from Professor Carolyn Hoyle and Dr Dennis Eady, the fourth session is confirmed to go ahead on 9 September from 18.30 to 19.30. In the fourth session, the WCMJ will take evidence from experienced defence solicitors. The session will take place inHouse of Lords, Committee Room 3a.
The panel is scheduled to include:
Steven Bird, Chairman of the Criminal Appeals Lawyers Association and Managing Director of Birds Solicitors
Mark Newby, Solicitor Advocate and Principal Member of QualitySolicitors Jordans, who helped secure the acquittal of Victor Nealon
Matt Foot, defence solicitor from Birnberg Pierce, who represented Sam Hallam in overturning his wrongful murder conviction
